The Times Online is reporting that Placido Domingo and Jose Carreras will take to the stage next weekend in the ancient Jordanian city of Petra for a £5,000 ($8745 USD) a head charity concert celebrating Pavarotti’s life on behalf of both United Nations relief programs in Afghanistan and local Jordanian charities.

If you happen to be in Amman this coming Friday, August 29 then you’re in luck as the last Souk Jara event of the summer is being held. Souk Jara is a Jordanian annual, weekly flea market event organized by the Jabal Amman Residents Association (Jara) that occurs every Friday throughout the summer that offers a variety of family-oriented activities.

International opera stars Placido Domingo, Julia Migenes, and jazz singer Diana Krall were the highlights of a star-studded summer in Jordan. This was the first time the world-renowned Spanish tenor Placido Domingo and the American soprano opera singer Julia Migenes performed in Jordan. It was also the first time for Canadian Jazz vocalist and pianist Diana Krall.
